Description
International Space Summit 2026, taking place on 9–10 September 2026 in Paris, will bring together stakeholders from across the global space community to address the major scientific, technological, economic and environmental challenges shaping the future of space. The Summit will provide a high-level platform for governments, space agencies, researchers, industry leaders, innovators and international partners to exchange perspectives, strengthen cooperation and explore pathways towards a resilient, sustainable and forward-looking space sector. Research and innovation will remain at the heart of France’s space ambitions. As Minister for Higher Education, Research and Space Philippe Baptiste has emphasised, the space sector demonstrates the strategic links between research, innovation and sovereignty. The International Space Summit will bring these priorities to the international stage, creating a forum to discuss how scientific excellence, technological progress and industrial capabilities can contribute to the future of space. France has pursued its space ambitions for decades through European and international cooperation, supported by strong scientific and industrial expertise. A central objective of its national space strategy is to preserve France and Europe’s autonomous access to space while strengthening their capacity to innovate and compete in a rapidly evolving global sector. By hosting the International Space Summit 2026, France seeks to foster collective dialogue and deepen international cooperation on the future of space. The Summit will provide an opportunity to build partnerships, exchange knowledge and shape collaborative approaches to the challenges ahead, reinforcing space as a driver of scientific discovery, technological innovation, economic development and strategic cooperation.
