Saint-Gobain India -Gyproc Business has commissioned India’s first Near-Net Zero Gypsum Ceiling Tiles Plant in Visakhapatnam.

“This investment strengthens our manufacturing footprint in India and enables us to scale low-carbon ceiling solutions closer to key markets,’’ Sudeep Kolte, Managing Director, Saint-Gobain Gyproc India said in a release on Monday.

Commissioned in December 2025, the state-of-the-art plant has an annual production capacity of 5 million square metres and will manufacture Gyprex PVC Laminated Gypsum ceiling tiles. This first Near- Net Zero Gypsum ceiling tiles plant is aligned with Saint-Gobain’s global sustainability roadmap of achieving Net Zero Carbon by 2050.
