Empowering Social-Impact Start-ups Through Co-Innovation: The Capgemini AIE Hyderabad Way
Capgemini Applied Innovation Exchange (AIE) Hyderabad collaborated closely in the Capgemini Innovation Challenge—an initiative conducted in partnership with AGNIi Mission (Office of the Principal Scientific Adviser, Government of India) and Startup India—to accelerate the growth of high-potential Indian start-ups delivering societal impact. The objective of the initiative was to identify, mentor, and scale disruptive solutions addressing social, safety, and community challenges. From 68 submitted innovations, five start-ups were shortlisted. Capgemini AIE Hyderabad played a central role in technical evaluation, concept shaping, and structured co-innovation support. One of the selected start-ups, LifeOfGirl, focuses on women’s safety through predictive intelligence, safe-route mapping, and community-vetted “safe havens.” AIE Hyderabad provided a three-month virtual co-innovation programme that spanned technical architecture, data modelling, product feature refinement, UX guidance, and business strategy maturation. The team also supported the founder on brand positioning, market validation, mentorship, and establishing readiness for fundraising.
This collaboration demonstrated Capgemini AIE Hyderabad’s end-to-end co-innovation capability—supporting start-ups not only technologically but strategically and operationally. The key value additions included: • Translating broad ideas into deployable, technically sound architectures. • Strengthening data models and predictive algorithms for real-world safety use cases. • Enhancing product design, UX behaviour, and user workflows. • Guiding compliance with security, privacy, and technology standards. • Supporting branding, storytelling, and early-stage go-to-market (GTM) strategies. • Providing corporate mentorship that accelerated investor readiness. By bridging corporate innovation expertise with the agility of start-ups, AIE Hyderabad created a model of responsible tech innovation that directly contributes to India’s innovation ecosystem.
